Anger Management Group
Course Description
Program: Personal Development Program
Length: Seven Sessions
Time: One and a half hours once or twice a week
Rationale
Chronic anger is costly both emotionally and physically. It has been established that if anger is handled incorrectly, or not at all, it can lead to cardiovascular disease, headaches, depression, relationship problems, abuse, low self-esteem, addictions, lowered job productivity and chronic distress, to name just a few. Learning to manage your anger can convert it from a negative force in your life to a creative and powerful source of energy. With practice, you can change your old anger habits into new positive alternatives in your personal and working relationships.
Objectives
This course is designed to assist participants in managing and expressing their anger more effectively. Techniques will be shared on de-escalating anger, dealing with old anger, identifying and changing destructive angry patterns, handling conflict and dealing with other's anger. The focus of the group will be on cognitive restructuring, education, relaxation coping skills and social skills training.
