Program: Personal Development Program
Length: Six Sessions
Time: One and a half hours per week
Rationale
Communication is a basic life skill and your ability to communicate largely determines your personal happiness. When you communicate effectively, you make and keep friends and improve intimate relationships. Often there is no one to show you how to communicate your wants, anger, joy or secret fears. No one shows how not to blame others, how to listen actively or how to "check-out" someone's meaning instead of mind reading.
Objectives
The participants will be able to identify deficits in their communication patterns and work on improving skills in these areas. Throughout the six sessions, the participants will learn skills such as active listening, body language, feed back, how not to prejudge people due to our "biases" and the importance of "whole" messages. By applying these new skills, your relationships will improve and meet your needs.
