1. What does this service provide?
The in-patient unit provides client-centred care from the interprofessional team to ensure that the client and their significant others physical, psychosocial and spiritual needs are met.
2. Who is the interprofessional team?
The interprofessional team consists of physiotherapist (PT), Occupational Therapist (OT), Dietician, Rehab Assistants, Speech Language Pathologist (SLP), Recreationist, Spiritual Care, Social Worker (SW), Pharmacist, nursing and physicians. The interprofessional team attends weekly rounds to review your progress.
3. Will I be charged for this service?
No, this service is covered by the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP).
4. How long can I stay?
Plans for discharge are reviewed at time of admission. Family conferences are arranged to review your goals and progress.
5. Will I receive therapy?
You will be assessed by the physiotherapist and occupational therapist and following that assessment, a therapy schedule will be arranged.
6. Can I or my significant other tour the unit before admission?
Absolutely. A tour can be arranged by contacting the Social Worker, Clinical Leader or the Program Manger.
7. Will I be able to have visitors?
Yes. Visiting hours are flexible and overnight stays can be arranged as needed.
