Pulmonary Rehabilitation

Pulmonary Rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary program that is individually tailored to offer clients living with lung disease the knowledge and skills to manage their illness and improve their quality of life.

The program is focused on enhancing quality of life by offering a comprehensive and indivudally tailored approach to chronic lung disease. through evaluation of your lung disease, providing education, skills and supervised exercise, our goals are to:

  • Help clients better understand their lung condition
  • Increase self-confidence and self-reliance in day-to-day management of lung disease
  • Reduce the intensity and impact of symptoms of lung disease
  • Prevent or reduce hospital admissions, reduce length of hospital stays and physician visits
  • Provide a personalized excercise program to increase strength and endurance, decrease shortness of breath, and improve overall quality of life
  • Encourage/assist client to maintain their pulmonary health and overall fitness post-program

Individuals who have a diagnosis of a respiratory condition (e.g. Pulmonary Fibrosis, COPD) and are either a) a non-smoker, or b) have a plan to quit smoking can be referred to the program.

A referral to the program can be made by a Physician or Nurse Practitioner.
