Emergency Codes
The following code words have been designated to clearly communicate to all staff, clients and visitors that an emergency situation is taking place or is imminent. Please click on one of the code colours and select a site to read the emergency plan for that code.

Legend
- Code Black - A Bomb Threat Emergency is present or that a Bomb Threat Drill is being exercised.
- Code Blue - A Cardiac Arrest / Medical Emergency is in progress.
- Code Green - An evacuation is imminent, usually occurring with lead time. This may be caused by, lack of heat in the hospital, fumes from an internal toxic spill, or other events.
- Code Grey - An external airborne toxic spill has occurred and that external air must be excluded from the building
- Code Lockdown - An emergency situation arises that requires a SJCG site to lockdown it's facility.
- Code Orange (Internal) - A need for extra personnel to care for clients and possible evacuation of them due to a disaster within the facility. (i.e. loss of electricity)
- Code Purple - A hostage situation is taking place.
- Code Red - A Fire Emergency is present or a Fire Drill is being exercised.
- Code Silver - An individual who is in possession of a weapon and an enhanced police response is required.
- Code White - An aggressive/violent situation is in progress or that code white is being exercised
- Code Yellow - A client is wandering and missing; or that code yellow is being exercised
Business Continuity Plans
In the event that a major disaster affects one or more SJCG sites, departmental Business Continuity Plans will support all efforts to maintain critical services and essential business functions and to ensure that a full recovery to normal operations occurs.
