RAI-MH - Minimum Data Set-Mental Health (MDS-MH)

The Minimum Data Set-Mental Health (MDS-MH) component of the RAI-MH consists of approximately 300 data elements. This allows the clinician to complete a comprehensive assessment of the patient as the data elements reflect a patient's mental and physical health status, available social supports and the services utilized.

All mental health inpatients are assessed with the MDS-MH on admission, discharge and for longer stay patients, every ninety-two days.

Data collected in these elements in turn provides information for the other components of the RAI-MH.
