SJCG Implements Visitor Self Screening - H1N1 Update

Date: 2009-11-19

In response to the decrease in influenza activity in Northwestern Ontario, St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) will discontinue formal visitor screening and implement self-screening at all SJCG locations on Thursday, November 19, 2009.

For the health and safety of our clients, visitors exhibiting a fever of 38C (100.4F) or higher and/or a new or worsening cough are asked not to enter our facilities.

Clients with outpatient appointments who have a fever and/or a new or worsening cough should call the program before attending to determine if their appointment should be rescheduled.

There are currently no confirmed or suspected cases of H1N1 in client inpatient programs.

Thank you to our clients and visitors for your patience, understanding and cooperation during this time.

For more information about H1N1, please visit the Thunder Bay District Health Units flu website at www.thunderbayflu.ca.
