Practice Spotlight Organization Designation
Designation
St. Joseph’s Care Group (SJCG) received Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) designation with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO) in April 2018. This milestone illustrates the commitment to building an evidence-based practice culture across the organization.
The designation was achieved through the successful completion of a three-year program to implement and evaluate the RNAO’s Best Practice Guidelines (BPG’s) using the Knowledge to Action process outlined in the RNAO’s Implementation of Best Practice Guideline Toolkit.
Sustainability
SJCG is dedicated to ensuring care and services are delivered based on the highest quality evidence-based practice and research. The BPSO designation aligns with key strategic priorities from our corporate Strategic plan, Here For You When You Need Us, and the Nursing Strategy, Leading. Quality. Care. We will continue to maintain this prestigious designation by capacity building of Best Practice Champions, implementing new BPG recommendations, disseminating knowledge and key learning’s, and evaluating client outcomes.
To date, the following Best Practice Guidelines have been implemented:
- Establishing Therapeutic Relationships
- Strategies to Support Self-Management in Chronic Conditions: Collaboration with Clients.Â
- Screening for Delirium, Dementia and Depression in Older Adults
- Caregiving Strategies for Older Adults with Delirium, Dementia and Depression
- Prevention of Falls and Fall Injuries in the Older Adult
