SJCG & TBRHSC Team Up For Commuter Challenge
Date: 2010-05-26
St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) and Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre (TBRHSC) have teamed up to encourage their staff and volunteers to participate in the annual National Commuter Challenge that will take place during Canadian Environment Week May 30 - June 5, 2010.
Participants can choose to commute by transit, cycling, walking, carpooling and video or teleconferencing. In addition to the challenge, each organization is holding pre-week activities and information sessions on city transit, hiking trails, footwear, bicycle tune-ups and Eco-Driver by Eco Superior to provide helpful ideas and commuting tips.
With a combined total of near 5,000 staff and volunteers, SJCG and TBRHSC are aiming to earn the distinction of having the highest percentage of healthy commuters in comparable health care organizations across Canada.
Commuter Challenge Week runs May 30 - June 5, 2010 and is open to all individuals and workplaces. For more information, go to www.commuterchallenge.ca
