Partnerships in Dementia Care: Prevention to End of Life

St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) was proud to sponsor Lakehead University's Centre for Education and Research on Aging and Health (CERAH) and appear in a short film highlighting the partnership between SJCG and CERAH and the community based research being conducted.

Lakehead University researchers Dr. Mary Lou Kelley and Dr. Elaine Wiersma, together with Tracy Buckler, President and CEO of St. Joseph's Care Group, and select clients and staff, were featured in the five-minute film about research in developing a culture of palliative care in long term care homes where the majority of residents have dementia (QPC-LTC Alliance) and self-management of dementia.

The informational and educational film premiered in front of the international audience at the 26th Annual International Alzheimer's Conference in Toronto, March 26 - 29, 2011.
