Making a Difference: 2013 Showcase of Health Research

St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) hosted a research conference on Friday, February 8, 2013, called "Making a Difference: 2013 Showcase of Health Research".
Dr. Michel Bédard, Scientific Director, SJCG, said "We are extremely pleased that the Showcase has become an annual event since 2006 and each year we welcome the opportunity to bring together healthcare professionals, students and scientists to discuss health research.”
During the Showcase participants had an opportunity to:
- Learn about health research relevant to the people of North Western Ontario;
- Discuss with others how to incorporate research into clinical practice; and
- Network and develop research partnerships.
Tracy Buckler, President & CEO, SJCG, acknowledged in her opening address that “St. Joseph’s Care Group recognizes the importance of supporting research. Research is an important tool used to first create new knowledge, and then translate it into the best care possible for the clients we serve throughout our organization. It is wonderful that the Showcase continues draw such a broad audience who come to share and learn about work that is being done in our community.”
