St. Joseph's Care Group Earns Highest Ranking from Accreditation Canada

St. Joseph's Care Group (SJCG) has achieved a four-year Accreditation with Exemplary Standing rating from Accreditation Canada. This is the highest award a Canadian healthcare provider can receive from Accreditation Canada - the independent, not-for-profit organization that sets the standards for quality and safety in healthcare.
With the most recent data from Accreditation Canada revealing only 30% of healthcare organizations accredited in 2011 received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing, SJCG is proud to be part of this exclusive group.
“Achieving Accreditation with Exemplary Standing is an amazing accomplishment that speaks to the complete and total commitment of our Board of Directors, senior leadership team, management team, physicians, staff, and volunteers. This is truly a team effort,” says Tracy Buckler, President & CEO, SJCG.
Accreditation is a rigorous evaluation process that requires documented and operational evidence of compliance with numerous organizational standards and practices pertaining to quality and safety, including health system performance, governance, client safety, performance measurement and risk prevention planning.
The following were identified as SJCG's key strengths in Accreditation Canada's feedback:

- Well-organized and diverse Board of Directors, reflecting the population served
- Strong structure of principle-based care and decision-making
- Strategic emphasis on quality improvement
- Dedication to communication and participation with community stakeholders
