Making a Difference: 2016 Showcase of Health Research
Date: 2016-02-05
On Friday, February 5, 2016, St. Joseph’s Care Group’s Centre for Applied Health Research (CAHR) hosted the eleventh annual “Making a Difference: 2016 Showcase of Health Research”.
Organized by the Centre for Applied Health Research (launched last year by SJCG) the Showcase continues to be the premier annual venue for the dissemination of research relevant to the health of Northwestern Ontarians.
Dr. Michel Bédard, Scientific Director, SJCG, said that "Since 2006, the Showcase has provided the opportunity for healthcare professionals, students, and scientists to share clinically relevant research projects.”
During the Showcase, participants had the opportunity to:
- Learn about health research relevant to Northwestern Ontarians;
- Discuss with others how to incorporate research into clinical practice; and
- Network and develop research partnerships.
Tracy Buckler, President & CEO, SJCG recognizes the critical role that research plays in identifying evidence-based best practices in healthcare. “Supporting and sharing research through this event creates opportunities for learning and collaboration. I am pleased that so many leaders in healthcare research have participated today to discuss and share their work with professionals from the region.”
