Hogarth Riverview Manor, Entering the Home Stretch

With construction of the resident home areas complete, Hogarth Riverview Manor began to welcome its first residents over the past weekend.
This is a milestone marking the final phase of resident moves to Hogarth Riverview Manor. It also means more capacity for long-term care in the city of Thunder Bay. "We often speak in terms of beds, and what's important is to remember the human story," said Tracy Buckler, President and CEO of St. Joseph's Care Group. "People will live with dignity in their new home while receiving the compassionate care that they need."
According to Buckler, the moves will happen in two phases. "Over the next few weeks, people waiting for long-term care at the Lakehead Psychiatric Hospital, at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, and in the community will move to their new home."
Construction is not quite complete at the site. Work continues on The Link, a community and retail space that joins Hogarth Riverview Manor with the Sister Leila Greco Apartments. Expected to open in early summer, The Link features a number of amenities for residents, staff, and the public to use. Landscaping and finishing touches will also continue during the months to come.
