Date: 2018-05-10
After a three-year journey, St. Joseph's Care Group is pleased to announce that we have achieved Best Practice Spotlight Organization (BPSO) designation from the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO).
To receive designation as an RNAO Best Practice Spotlight Organization, SJCG implemented five Clinical Best Practice Guidelines (BPG) within a three-year period, these included:
- Establishing Therapeutic Relationships
- Care giving Strategies for Older Adults with Delirium, Dementia and Depression
- Screening for Delirium, Dementia and Depression in Older Adults
- Prevention of Falls and Fall Injuries in the Older Adult
- Strategies to Support Self-Management in Chronic Conditions: Collaboration with Clients.
As well, St. Joseph's Care Group now has 108 trained Best Practice Champions who are advocates for change. They are also an integral part of implementing Best Practice Guidelines. Best Practice Champions include representation from a variety of healthcare professions.
This designation was achieved as a result of the incredible teams of staff including; Nursing Quality Practice Council (BPSO Steering Committee), Professional Advisory Council, BPG Working Groups, Best Practice Champions, Collaborative Practice Team, and SJCG's Leadership Team.
