Crossroads Centre is Moving
Date: 2025-05-07
Thunder Bay - Crossroads Centre is relocating to its new permanent home on May 8, 2025. Located at 667 Sibley Drive, Crossroads Centre will continue to provide pre- and post-treatment care, supporting people in their addictions recovery journey.
Construction has been underway at the new site since December 2024, with clients and staff providing their insight and guidance as part of the planning process. "Having a space designed specifically to meet client needs with input from clients and staff makes a huge difference," said Andrea Docherty, Vice President Clinical & Community Care. "It feels like people care - not just about what they are going through now, but about helping them to move forward."
The relocation is one part of a larger initiative to expand and enhance access to mental health and addictions services at St. Joseph's Care Group. In brief:
- Crossroads Centre will operate as a standalone site supporting up to 20 people at a time in their recovery through pre- and post-treatment care that includes ongoing support, connection, and reintegration with community.
- 500 Oliver Road will focus will on delivering Safe Sobering and Withdrawal Management services together with wraparound supports including connection to treatment, mental health supports, traditional healing practices, and other social services.
- Construction continues at Oliver Road, with 8 additional Safe Sobering beds expected to open in summer 2025.
"By realigning our services, we are able to strengthen our ability to deliver comprehensive, compassionate addictions care in the right environment, meeting people where they are in their health journey," said Janine Black, President & CEO of St. Joseph's Care Group.
