N'doo'owe Binesi Fall Progress Report on Growth, Impact, and Walking with Humility

Progress Report - Walking With Humility

Date: 2025-09-17

Today, as the 4-day Sacred Fire came to a close, our community gathered together in ceremony and to Feast. The occasion also marked the release of St. Joseph's Care Group's Progress Report on Wiidosem Dabasendizowin: Walking with Humility - Embracing the Teachings of the West.

Walking with Humility is a living document and long-term strategy that shares our story and commitment to improving healthcare with Indigenous Peoples. It has been seven years of progress since our first Walking with Humility plan, and St. Joseph's Care Group and N'doo'owe Binesi remain committed to transforming healthcare together.

"N'doo'owe Binesi has demonstrated what's possible when healthcare is guided by Indigenous knowledge, ceremony, and leadership," said Paul Francis Jr., Vice President, N'doo'owe Binesi. "We continue to build trust with communities, strengthen partnerships, and ensure services are culturally responsive and safe."

"Our work extends across Northwestern Ontario, supporting hospitals and community organizations to embed Indigenous perspectives, cultural safety, and reconciliation into every level of care," adds Sarah Wright, Regional Director of Indigenous Partnerships. "We are listening, learning, and walking alongside communities to ensure Indigenous voices guide the future of health services."
