Visits Resume at St. Joseph's Hospital

Thunder Bay, ON - St. Joseph's Care Group is pleased to share that visits have resumed at St. Joseph's Hospital following a sprinkler system issue on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
SJCG worked with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue to address the issue. No one was hurt, and there was no immediate danger.
We thank Thunder Bay Fire Rescue for its quick response and collaboration, and our staff for their continued care and support for clients throughout the response.
We also thank our clients, families and visitors for their patience and cooperation while visits were temporarily paused. We recognize the importance of staying connected with family and loved ones and appreciate everyone's understanding.

St. Joseph's Hospital Temporarily Pauses Visits as a Precaution

Thunder Bay, ON - St. Joseph's Care Group is working collaboratively with Thunder Bay Fire Rescue to address an issue with the sprinkler system at St. Joseph's Hospital.
Everyone is safe. As a precaution, some clients have been temporarily relocated within the hospital while staff and emergency responders work together to address the issue.
During this time, visits are temporarily paused until further notice. Families and visitors are asked to postpone visits until an update is shared confirming that visits can resume.
Staff continue to provide care and support to clients throughout the response. St. Joseph's Care Group appreciates the cooperation of clients, families and the community and will share updates as the situation progresses.
