Expanding COVID-19 Surveillance Testing to Tenants and Staff of Seniors' Supportive Housing
Date: 2020-05-01
St. Joseph’s Care Group is testing all residents and staff of Bethammi Nursing Home and Hogarth Riverview Manor for COVID-19, a proactive measure called ‘surveillance’ testing. Coupled with the testing already done through active screening, we will have a more comprehensive ‘snapshot in time’ of the status of our clients and staff.
Starting next week, surveillance testing is expanding to include tenants and staff of PR Cook and Sister Leila Greco Apartments. “Extending the surveillance testing to Seniors’ Supportive Housing just makes good sense,” said Tracy Buckler, President & CEO of St. Joseph’s Care Group. “We want to ensure we do everything possible to identify positive cases of COVID-19 early.”
Testing will take place as follows:
Site | Date | Time |
---|---|---|
PR Cook Apartments | Wednesday, May 6, 2020 | 9:00am - 4:00pm |
Sister Leila Greco Apartments | Thursday, May 7, 2020 | 9:00am - 4:00pm |
“We are extremely grateful to our partners at Superior North EMS,” notes Buckler. The paramedics have been onsite helping to test more than 1,500 people over a two-week period. “Providing support for surveillance testing for seniors and frontline healthcare workers certainly demonstrates their ongoing commitment to the health and wellbeing of our community,” said Buckler.
