SJCG Implements New Travel Restrictions at All Sites

Thunder Bay ON - Effective Thursday, November 26, 2020, new travel restrictions are being implemented at St. Joseph’s Care Group. Anyone who has travelled outside Northwestern Ontario (White River to the Manitoba border) within the past 14 days will not be permitted to enter St. Joseph’s Care Group sites.

“The break between travel and visiting any healthcare or congregate setting can be an effective way to keep loved ones safe, especially for anyone who has unknowingly contracted the virus but may not yet be showing any symptoms,” remarked Tracy Buckler, President & CEO of St. Joseph’s Care Group.

“Our Incident Management Team is constantly monitoring the incidence of COVID-19, directives from the provincial government, and guidance from public health,” said Buckler. “We will always take the necessary steps to keep our clients and our staff safe. I ask that the public please continue to take the simple steps to stay well - maintain a physical distance of 2 metres, wear a mask, wash your hands often, and stay home if you are unwell. We’re counting on you to help slow the spread of COVID-19.”

There are other ways to stay in touch, notes Buckler: “We know that connection to loved ones is essential for the wellbeing of our clients, and we will continue to offer virtual visits, or televisits, when in-person visiting is not safe.”

Visiting restrictions can change without prior notice.

For the most up-to-date visitor information, or to book a Virtual/Televisit, visit our COVID-19 section or follow us on Facebook.
