What You Should Know Before Arriving for Your Appointment or Visit

St. Joseph's Care Group has implemented a number of measures at all our sites to help keep our clients and staff safe and well during the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Restrictions can change with little notice, so, before arriving for your visit or appointment, please check our website to see if something may prevent you from entering one of our sites.
Screening
Our screening process is our first line of defense to prevent COVID-19 from entering one of our care environments. You can preview our screening questions online here. Screening is important because it can identify risk of exposure or symptoms that you might not be aware of. As well, we use this information for contact tracing if needed.
Exposure: Within the last 14 days:
- Travel outside of the recommended area recommended by Thunder Bay District Health Unit
- Visit to a facility with an active outbreak
- Positive COVID-19 test
- Close contact a confirmed case of COVID-19 or High Probable case of COVID-19
Symptoms: Experiencing one or more symptoms consistent with COVID-19
Visiting Restrictions
Visiting restrictions are in place within our Hospital, Long-Term Care Homes and Seniors’ Supportive Housing. These restrictions are reduced or increased based on direction from the Province of Ontario and Thunder Bay District Health Unit. Each of these facilities has a dedicated visiting page on our website to provide you with the most up-to-date information.
Simple Steps to Stay Safe
- Everyone must wear a surgical mask provided by St. Joseph’s Care Group at all times while at our sites. Cloth and other personal masks are not permitted.
- Clean hands with hand sanitizer when entering or exiting our building, before and after putting on your mask and as needed throughout your visit.
- Maintain physical distance of two metres (six feet) from all other clients, staff and visitors.
- Stay in designated areas.
