Answers

1. When are visiting hours?

Visiting hours are between 11:00 am and 8:00 pm; visiting hours may adjusted in special circumstances. In order to promote rehabilitation development, we ask that visiting not take place during Rehabilitation Times, Monday to Friday: 10:00 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.

2. Can family members participate in client care?

With appropriate consent from the client, the program welcomes family involvement in treatment planning and ongoing support of the client.

3. How do I find out about how my friend or family member is doing?

In order for any information to be released to family or friends, the client, or Substitute Decision Maker, must provide written consent allowing personal health information to be shared. Inquiries should be directed to the MHRP inpatient clinical team.

4. Are there items I should bring to the service if I am going to be an inpatient?

Clients should bring personal care items that will be required during hospitalization, as well as any mobility devices that are used by the client. It is recommended that valuables, such as jewelry, credit cards, or cash, be left at home or with a trusted family member. A trust account can be set up with the hospital so that you may deposit and access funds while in hospital.

5. What else do I need to know about using this service?

On admission, all clients are given a handout with information that answers most questions you may have about our service. Clinical team members will also be available to assist you with orientation to the program and to answer any questions you have.

6. What can I expect as a client?

The Mental Health Rehabilitation Program offers a safe and secure home-like environment. The program provides comprehensive mental health rehabilitation services focused on skill maintenance and development, wellness, and community integration. Together with the client, an individualized treatment/wellness plan is developed. The plan includes assessment results, treatments, interventions, mutual rehabilitation goals, and discharge planning details. Rehabilitation services are specifically tailored to meet each client’s distinct needs. All clients are encouraged to be actively involved and participate in their personalized rehabilitation and care activities.
